What an amazing, fun day at Denver Skate Park… about 30 girls showed up to Core’s first all girls event! It was so awesome to see girls of all ages and all abilities out there skating together! So thanks to everyone who came out. Can’t wait until next time!!
I had such a fun time! All the girls that came out ROCKED! So much fun - I am so stoked for the next go ’round! YAH!
It really was a great day! I didn’t think the turn out would be so big but wow for our first girl skate day and not much advertising we had lots of gals out there! It rocked seeing all those ladies. I’m excited because some of them had never skated before and got up the courage to come out to the park! So thanks to all the ladies that came out and made girls skate day what it was! AWESOME!!!!!!
I hope next time though more girls end up skating instead of chatting. I know it was very cool to hang out and meet other girl skaters. Heck we’re gals we like to chat it’s in our gene’s.
I also know many of the ladies were intimidated because it ended up being more crowded with GUYZ than I expected.The word got out that girl skaters would be there and so all the guys showed up to watch! So we’ll work on finding a more relaxed atmosphere to build up everyones confidence next time around.
I have some great idea’s for our next gal skate day. I’m thinking that we should rent out the indoor skatepark just for ladies and run a skate clinic! I’ve done this before and it rocked! Courtney what do you think of this? I’m going to look into it as well as look into setting up a girls skate night once a week at the indoor park where ladies get a discount on..say thursdays or whatever. We use to do that at the park but not to many ladies showed up and guys complained about how gals shouldn’t get a discount so it got dropped. Bummer. It’s got new owners now so we’ll see if I can work something out.
Sorry for the long blog. I’m just so excited to do another one! And so glad that it was such a positive and encouraging day for everyone!
